This morning, Swiss independent De Bethune announced a new version of the company’s futuristically styled Dream Watch.

Distinguished by an Ogive-shaped hand-polished blued grade 5 titanium case — which measures 58 mm across, 47 mm tall, and 17 mm thick — the Dream Watch is unmistakably made by De Bethune.

De Bethune’s hand-wound 5Hz caliber DB2149, has 356 components, 35 jewels, and a four-day power reserve. The movement uses a number of high-tech components including a titanium balance wheel with white gold inserts, a silicon escape wheel, a Spherical moon-phase display accurate to within one lunar day every 1,112 years, and ultra-light silicon and titanium 30-second tourbillon. All of the components have been finished to Haute horology standards.

A cabochon-cut blue sapphire is set on the end of the crown, enhancing the overall blue theme of this complicated contemporary timepiece. Each De Bethune Dream Watch 5 is paired with a blue canvas and leather strap with a blues titanium pin buckle and an additional rubber strap. Limited to 10 pieces, the retail price is likely north of $100,000 although the company failed to disclose the exact amount. (Ref. DW5TSB)
