Following the successful collaboration between NBA star Rui Hachimura and G-Shock in 2020, a second limited edition watch has been created for 2021.

Rui Hachimura is a Japanese professional basketball player that was taken in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards.“The watch draws inspiration from my roots in Benin and Africa, which are very important to me,” said Rui Hachimura. “The band design and watch face evoke elements of Beninese culture and I am delighted at how Casio brought my ideas to life.”

The G-Shock 2021 Rui Hachimura Limited Edition GM110RH-1A is offered in a  48.8 mm x 16.9 mm (51.9 mm lug-to-lug) copper-toned metal-covered resin case, with a polished copper IP plated forged metal bezel.

Driven by a shockproof battery-powered quartz movement, the GM110 display features an analog-digital display for reading the time and additional functions.

The watch weighs 101 grams and has bright red, yellow, green highlight colors that symbolize the national flag of Benin, West Africa, Hachimura’s father’s home country. There are two straps included, one is a standard black rubber and the other is a rubber and cloth band with a kente-cloth motif (Kente are specially woven festive ritual cloths used in West Africa) and a copper-plated buckle and a triple keeper (red, green, yellow). Further, Hachimura’s personal “Black Samurai” logo, which combines the Japanese character for 8 (八) and a Japanese sword, is engraved on the metal band loop and the back of the watch case.

Delivered in special packaging, the 2021 Rui Hachimura Limited Edition GM110RH-1A retails for $420 and will be available for purchase tomorrow, December 3, 2021, at select G-SHOCK retailers, the G-SHOCK Soho Store, and G-Shock.com.
