TX Watch Company, a three-year-old brand, owned by the Timex Group, recently introduced a new dress watch within their high-end quartz collection called the TX 400 Series Perpetual Weekly Calendar.

The new perpetual calendar movement features a date function and will remain accurate until 2100, like most perpetual calendars. Although, unlike most perpetual calendars, this one uses analog quartz technology, making it a much more affordable option than an automatic perpetual movement.

All versions feature a 316L stainless steel case that is 46 mm in diameter. The case dimensions seem big on paper, but in real life, the case dimensions are pretty standard. The other models in the TX collection are actually much larger. This watch is clearly a dress watch with looks reminiscent of a classic Rolex.

Water-resistance is 100 meters. Depending on the version, you get either a genuine leather strap or stainless steel bracelet.

As you can see, the attention to detail and finish are quite good. A nice mixture of polished and brushed finishes has been used on the case, bezel, bracelet, crown, and pusher. Another detail generally found on watches costing thousands of dollars.

This watch is extremely easy to operate, everything is controlled via either the crown or a single pusher. The crown is non-locking, so to set the time and date, just pull it out and turn. And to view the month, just tap the pusher once. The date hand will reset after a few seconds.

Once you set the date, that is it. It is guaranteed accurate until 2100. It even accounts for short months, and leap years.

One feature that is often overlooked on models at this price point, is the glass. All TX watches use sapphire crystals. Synthetic sapphire glass is nearly impossible to scratch and unless you are going to the moon, in which case a shatter-proof acrylic crystal is necessary, a sapphire crystal is a must for any high-quality watch.
