The majority of all wristwatch designs are round, and so watch companies must find ways to distinguish themselves from the competition, especially companies that have not been established for many years and that are not backed by a huge corporation, which can be very difficult.

Valbray, a company we first covered in 2011, has found a unique approach to differentiating their timepieces: they have a patented circular diaphragm, on the dial of all their timepieces, that opens and closes by turning the bezel.

This particular model is the Oculus Titanium Full Black that is in grade 5 titanium and has a 46 mm diameter. It features a multi-layered honeycomb grid dial and oversized skeleton hour and minute hands. Everything is in matte black, except for a few polished accents along the bezel edge, crown, and pushers.

Inside, is a Valjoux 7750 with top-grade finishing that is viewable through the sapphire back. The watch comes on a black alligator strap and is limited to 250 pieces. (Ref. VR01F)
