Covid has caused people to rethink their careers — and this watch is as much a piece of art as it is a statement.

The watch dial, hand-painted by New York-based artist Travis W. Simon is a f*ck you to the 9-5 workweek  — or perhaps metaphorically to inflexible employers who prefer to give orders rather than lead.

Whatever the case, the watch and art seem to be perfectly in line with the times.

On November 13, 2021, this custom painted vintage 1980 18K gold Cartier Santos Dumont Ref. 78097 watch was sold via auction at Watchesofknightsbridge.com for GBP 13,000 (approximately $17,200).
