This week, Zenith announced the El Primero Revival A384 “Edge of Space” which was created in partnership with the online luxury retailer, Mr. Porter, and watch customizer Bamford Watch Department.
Like the A384 Revival introduced earlier this year which celebrates the famous El Primero chronograph’s 50th anniversary, this new collaborative timepiece comes in the same 37 mm x 12.6 mm sized case, based on the original.
However, instead of stainless steel, the case is titanium and has been micro bead-blasted, resulting in a matte gray finish. The dial is dark blue with black counters and white markings.
Underneath the dial is the same El Primero caliber 400 automatic chronograph movement found in the A384 unveiled earlier this year, with a column-wheel and horizontal clutch. The 5Hz movement measures 30 mm x 6.6 mm, has 278 components, 31 jewels, and a 50-hour power reserve. Finishes include straight graining, Geneva stripes, blued screws, and perlage.
The watch is fitted with a navy blue Cordura-effect rubber strap with white contrast stitching and a titanium micro blasted pin buckle. Water-resistance is 50 meters.
This Zenith El Primero Revival A384 “Edge of Space” is available in a limited edition of 50 pieces. Retail is $8,600.
