Luxury Watches: Jaeger-LeCoultre 3-Piece Collector's Set

Jaeger-LeCoultre has released more images of their upcoming Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie three-piece collector's set. As I mentioned last week, the set will include the new Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie, the Gyrotourbillon Mechanica and the Reverso Mechanica à Tryptique. Each set will include a beautiful custom made 1800lb Doettling safe, with Jaeger-LeCoultre logos. Jaeger-LeCoultre will begin delivering these exclusive luxury watch sets in September 2010.

Citizen Concept Watches from Baselworld

At Baselworld I had a chance to photograph three of Citizen's Eco-Drive concept watches, all part of the CITIZEN Basel Project 2009. The Eco-Drive RING is designed to receive light from a solar cell situated around the edge of the case. The Eco-Drive DOME features the new Cal.H610 movement, a dome-shaped dial and a unique case. The Eco-Drive VITRO features an invisible solar cell that is spread throughout the glass and a skeleton-type dial that is integrated with the case. Co-Axial: Omega Seamaster GMT Chronograph

Omega recently introduced the Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial GMT Chronograph. It features a 44mm diameter case, in either stainless steel or 18k red gold. The case is both polished and brushed. It is water-resistant to 150 meters. The sapphire crystal is domed with a double anti-reflective treatment. Inside is a co-axial calibre 3603 COSC-certified column wheel chronograph movement.

Cartier Santos 100 Chronograph DLC

The Cartier Santos 100 chronograph is treated with a special amorphous DLC coating. Cartier says this specific treatment process is used on military equipment and that they have the exclusive rights to use this treatment for watches. What makes it different than other DLC treatments?

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie

The new Jaeger LeCoultre Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie, the world's most complicated wristwatch. What makes it so complicated? Its number of complications (also called functions). Here is a partial list: Westminster Chimes, Grande Sonnerie, Petit Sonnerie, silent mode, minute repeater, flying tourbillon, perpetual calendar, instantaneous jumping digital hours, minutes, days retrograde, months retrograde, date retrograde, display of the leap year, inertia blocking; tone power reserve, mainspring power reserve, time setting in steps of one hour and minute by one minute jumps, clockwise and counterclockwise. There are actually 26 in total.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox 2 Racing Chronograph

A limited series of AMVOX2 Racing Chronographs was recently unveiled by Jaeger-LeCoultre. Two versions will be available, a black PVD titanium model with a black dial and a titanium model with a white dial (pictured above). A unique perforated waterproof leather strap was used for these exclusive sports watches. Both wristwatches feature carbon fiber chronograph counters, adding a nice contrast to the center of the dial.

Breitling Raven Special Editions: Skyracer & Airwolf

The Airwolf is powered by an exclusive SuperQuartz™ movement. This movement functions with extreme accuracy and can measure 1/100th of a second chronograph times. It also features a 2nd timezone, alarm, countdown timer and UTC. A NVG-compatible display backlighting system enables night time reading. A turbine-shaped caseback functions as a resonance chamber for the alarm and other audible indications.

Monopusher Regulator: Tachoscope Audi 100th Anniversary

The Chronoswiss Tachoscope was developed in conjunction with Audi Design, to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Audi. Chronoswiss caliber C.125 powers the timepiece and represents a refined incarnation of the classic Enicar 165 caliber, which Chronoswiss has modified for its purposes; these include the implementation of a regulator hour display, a sophisticated mono-pusher activation for all of the chronograph functions, and a column wheel to govern the chronograph start-stop-return sequence. Available in either platinum or 18k gold. The platinum version comes with an enamel dial and the gold version comes with a silver dial. Both versions feature a sporty Audi designed dial, including the Audi logo at 3 o'clock. Only 100 numbered pieces will be available worldwide (65 in gold / 35 in platinum).

TAG Heuer Formula 1 Small Seconds

Introduced at Baselworld 2009, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Small Seconds is the newest addition to the TAG Heuer F1 collection. The 44mm stainless steel case is brushed and features a black PVD bezel. The bracelet comes in stainless steel or rubber, with a stainless steel clasp. The dial is white, with contrasting black numerals and indexes. A black dial version with white contrasting elements is also available (pictured below). A small seconds subdial and date aperature at 6 o'clock display the seconds and the date. The movement is quartz. Water-resistance is 200 meters.

Feature: TX 550 World Time Sport

The TX World Time Sport is great for keeping time in a second time zone. At the push of a button, you can select one of 24 cities from around the world. After selecting a city, the upper left (second time zone) hand moves to the correct time. In the lower right of the dial is the daylight savings time indicator. This hand is adjusted via the pusher on the left side of the case. You can toggle between "summer" and "winter" time on the lower display and the upper display adjusts accordingly.
