NYC Breguet Watch Boutique

Last week, I visited the New York City Breguet boutique, in Manhattan. The Breguet boutique is located adjacent to the Blancpain boutique, on Madison Avenue, in-between 66th and 67th Street. Breguet is the flagship brand within the Swatch Group, so it is always a treat to see what they have to offer. While there I photographed three timepieces. The Breguet Marine Chronograph Rose Gold, the Breguet Tradition 7037BA and the Breguet Classique 5177BA. The Tradition has a great three-dimensional design. Everything is sitting out in the open, on the dial and backside. Aside from the 3D design, the coolest feature is the retrograde seconds. Retrograde seconds are displayed at 10 o'clock, every 60 seconds when the small blue hand reaches the top of the display, it then quickly drops back to zero and starts again. The Classique features Breguet's

NYC Blancpain Watch Boutique

Last week, I had a chance to visit the flagship US Blancpain boutique. It is located in Midtown Manhattan, on Madison Avenue, between 66th and 67th Street. The boutique is fairly small, at about 1000 square feet, but within that space, they probably have the widest selection of Blancpain watches in the country. For Blancpain, I prefer their sporty models, the Fifty Fathoms especially, so I photographed and tried on a few of those. I also had a chance to check out the Limited Edition Lamborghini Super Trofeo. I like the look and dimensions of this watch. It features a very thin case design and is coated in a nice hard black DLC coating. It also features a robust manufacture flyback chronograph movement, visible through its sapphire crystal caseback. Blancpain All Black Fifty Fathoms ($14,400.00) Blancpain Super Trofeo Chronograph

Audemars Piguet Manufacture Tour

This is a combination of posts that were originally published in April 2009, following my visit to the Audemars Piguet manufacture in Le Brassus. I visited Basel, Switzerland in March, to attend the 2009 Baselworld show. And because I was already in Switzerland for the show, I decided to visit the Audemars Piguet factory as well. So after my final day in Basel, I took a 3-hour train ride to Geneva. The following morning, I traveled about an hour to the Audemars Piguet factory and headquarters in Le Brassus - located in the Joux Vallée. (Part I) AP: Forged Carbon Department Tour This is the first part on my recent tour of the Audemars Piguet factory and museum, in LeBrassus, Switzerland. My tour started in the "forged carbon" department. First the raw fibers are unrolled, measured and cut. The small
