Blancpain's 2014 Novelties Premiered in NYC

Last Thursday, Blancpain had an intimate luncheon on the rooftop terrace of the Nomad Hotel, where Blancpain’s US Brand President, Adam Bossi, presented US press with all of their 2014 novelties. Victorinox Adds To Maverick Sport Collection

In 2014, Victorinox added 8 new references to the Maverick Sport collection: four chronographs and four three-hand watches. The dial of each watch is accented in the same red, blue and yellow shades used in the flag of Ibach, Switzerland — the town where Victorinox is headquartered. The same color scheme is also used on the complementary strap in NATO fabric that supplements the original black one. All models are presented in 43 mm diameter stainless steel cases, brushed on the top and side of the case body, and polished on the edges, crown, and pushers. A stainless steel guard protects the crown. The unidirectional rotating bezel is made of black nylon injected fiber and is marked with white luminous numbers indices. Waltham returning to the market

Hands-On with the New Omega Speedmaster Mark II

This year at Baselworld Omega released a modern version of the 1969 Omega Speedmaster Mark II. The original Speedmaster Mark II was equipped with the hand-wound caliber 861, whereas the new model is powered by Co-Axial caliber 3330, a self-winding movement with silicon balance spring and column-wheel chronograph mechanism.

The Breitling Avenger Blackbird

Breitling recently launched a new version of the Avenger Blackbird, which is a military inspired watch presented in a 48 mm diameter black titanium case and with a black dial and black titanium bezel. This is an imposing watch that is sure to stand out on your wrist. The Avenger Blackbird is a basic three-hand model with hours, minutes, central seconds and date display. The dial is black with applied indexes. The hands and indexes and a dot at 12 o’clock have a luminous treatment that appears to be artificially aged. The crown is screw locked and has a screw down caseback, which ensures water-resistance to 300 meters. Inside, Breitling’s caliber 17 automatic movement, which is an ETA 2824-2 that beats at 4Hz, has 25 jewels, and a 40-hour power reserve. The bezel features a 0-60 scale and rotates unidirectionally.

Introducing the Armin Strom Racing Gravity

This is the Armin Strom Racing Gravity that was launched at Baselworld 2014. It is presented in a 43.40 mm by 13.00 mm black PVD treated stainless steel case, with a titanium bezel and crown. Armin Strom is one of the sponsors of the Marussia F1 team, and the movement bridges of these limited edition timepieces are made from the original motor block of an F1 car. Armin Strom in-house caliber AMR13-MR is self-winding and features a single going barrel good for a 5-day power reserve. The movement’s micro-rotor that winds the barrel is visible on the dial side of the watch. It runs at 2.5Hz, has 32 jewels and 171 total components.
