This year is the 185th anniversary of Jaeger-LeCoultre and the manufacture has created a very special version of their famous Reverso to mark the occasion.

The Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface uniquely combines dual reversible watch faces, with a shared flying tourbillon, inside of a platinum case that is only 9.15 mm thick (45.5 mm x 27.4 mm), and finished on par with legendary timepieces such as the Hybris Mechanica 11 and Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon.

Not only is the new manually wound caliber 847 of the same ilk as the two aforementioned watches aesthetically, it’s also incredibly advanced horologically. For example, the rotating carriage and free sprung balance utilize an advanced ball-bearing system that allows it to work on both the front and back side. The latter of which displays the mount for the flying tourbillon, a 60-seconds scale, and a day/night indicator at 2 o’clock.

The Duoface, as the name suggests has twin dials but uses one movement. The front dial has a blue sunrayed surface, silvered hand-applied hour-markers, and Dauphine hands. On the backside is a rough silver grained dial with sunray Côtes de Genève finish complemented by dark Dauphine hands and applied indices.

Either side, you’re guaranteed an exquisite face, but this, of course, comes at a cost and the production is limited to just 50 pieces, price by request only. (Ref. Q3926480)

Interestingly, the flying tourbillon is lodged in the lower portion of the platinum case which required a curve in the bottom interior edge of the case, a design feature that will surely speak to the sophisticated Jaeger-LeCoultre collectors for which this watch was created.
