Following the launch of the Aikon Quartz line in 2016, and the Aikon Automatic in 2018, today Maurice Lacroix unveiled the all-new, sportier, Aikon Venturer collection.

The new Venturer line features a slightly larger 43 mm x 11.60 mm case than the previous Aikon Automatic timepieces, which measure 41 mm x 10.25 mm. With the extra space, Maurice Lacroix has added 100 meters of water resistance for a total of 300 meters. And while this watch is not being marketed as a dive watch, per se, it does feature a new rotating dive bezel.

Like the Aikon Automatic, the hours, minutes, central seconds, and date are powered by caliber ML115. The Sellita movement features an elaborate grade finish, including perlage and Geneva stripes, although, unlike the previous model, the caseback is now solid, so you cannot see inside the movement. The automatic winding movement has 26 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve.

The dial decorated with a sunburst finish (as opposed to a barleycorn pattern on the original Aikon Automatic), rhodium-plated applied indices, and prominent rhodium-plated hands, along with a generous application of lume, including on the bezel at 12. The bezel insert, which is made of ceramic, matches the dial color (black or blue), and the rubber strap, if you choose rubber instead of the stainless steel bracelet.

On the right side of the case, crown guards have been added to prevent inadvertent opening or damaging of the crown. Interestingly, on the black model, the crown has a black coating, but not on the blue model which retains an all-steel surface.

Retail is $2,190 on either the rubber strap or stainless steel bracelet.
