In an exciting move, Cartier Privé is reviving the rare Tank à Guichets, an iconic model that first graced the watch world in 1928.

The Tank à Guichets features a mechanical “digital” display visible through two small apertures on the dial, with a “bullhead” crown at 12, and will be available in two variations consisting of four total references.

Both styles come in a 37.6 mm x 24.8 mm rectangular Tank case — featuring a gorgeous chamfered and polished edge that runs the entire length of the case flank and curves around each lug — that’s impressively svelte at just 6 mm. Cartier’s manually wound caliber 9755 MC movement drives the time-only jumping hours and trailing minutes displays for all four references.

2025 Cartier Tank à Guichets Platinum limited edition

The primary difference between the limited edition Tank à Guichets platinum model (shown at the top), is that the caliber 9755 MC movement has been rotated so that the apertures can be positioned to view the hours and minutes by looking down and not turning your wrist to view the time (a so-called “driver-style” aesthetic). The three standard models have the same movement, although it has been positioned so you need to turn your wrist toward you, the traditional way, to read the time.

The prices are shockingly high, though, for those who cherish the elegance of the Tank à Guichets, the revival represents an opportunity to own a piece of history. Each Tank à Guichets is paired with a complementary colored shiny alligator leather strap with a buckle matched to the case material.
