After pioneering the use of forged carbon in wristwatches over a decade ago, then abruptly abandoning it due to its brittleness — carbon is back at Audemars Piguet.

The Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date CFT Carbon features a chunky 43 mm x 17.4 mm case made from a combination of lightweight ceramic, titanium, and CFT (Chroma Forged Technology) forged carbon.

Chroma Forged Technology is a patented forged carbon that incorporates color and luminous materials in the carbon alloy, resulting in a case with a marbled look, that glows in the dark.

Complemented by a black ceramic bezel, crown, pushers, and caseback, the watch features a vibrant blue — that matches the blue blended into the CPT carbon case — on the three counters, the flange, one of the split-second chronograph hands tips, and is used for one of the two included integrated rubber straps (blue/black and black/blue).

Distinguishing the design — like with the Royal Oak Concept watch introduced in 2023 —  is a sporty openworked dial with white gold hour-markers and hands with luminescent coating, titanium chronograph split-second hands.

The Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date CFT Carbon (Ref. 26650FO.OO.D353CA.01) is water-resistant to 50 meters and the retail price is approximately $200,ooo.
