Made in collaboration with Honda’s 2026 relaunch of the Prelude, Japanese watchmaker Citizen has called on one of its vintage watch designs.
With the original Prelude coming out in 1978, and the original Citizen Ana-Digi Temp arriving in the 1980s, these two Japanese brands have gone the nostalgia route to commemorate the recent relaunch of Honda’s iconic sports coupe.
Available strictly as a limited edition JDM model, one in stainless steel and the other in black-coated stainless steel, Citizen’s Ana-Digi Temp 2026 “Honda Prelude” Limited Edition delivers a double dose of nostalgia.
Featuring a 32.5 mm diameter x 8 mm thick boxy case, that measures 40.6 mm lug-to-lug and weighs 69 grams, including the integrated bracelet, this watch should fit both men and women’s wrists.
The caliber 8989 Japanese quartz movement is accurate to -15/+15 seconds per month and has a 2 year battery life. Functions include a dual time function (analog and digital), a stopwatch accurate to 1/1000th of a second, a perpetual calendar day/date display, 12/24 hour switching function on the digital clock, a thermometer, alarm, and audible time signal. There’s also an illumination function.
An official Honda logo is placed on the lower right portion of the front of the case. A Honda “H”emblem sits in between the twin analog dials at the top. “Prelude” is also engraved on the solid caseback.
Final Thoughts
For anyone who loves this 1980s Citizen design, and the new 2026 Prelude hybrid, at $450 this is a no-brainer. Unlike when a company drops a limited edition in the thousands, this is a true limited edition, with only 200 of each version of the watch being made, and they’re exclusive to the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM), so it’ll take some actual effort to get one.
