This Seamaster was nicknamed Daniel Craig because the actor was spotted in public with it on his wrist.

This might be one of Omega’s best attempts at making a run at its rival Rolex’s no-date Submariner, for approximately 40% less, and with a comparably accurate master chronometer movement adjusted to 0/+5 seconds per day.

In 2020, Craig wore a yet-to-be-released version of the Seamaster 007 Edition, which is still in Omega’s catalog and comes in a full titanium case for $10,000 on a bracelet. Craig was spotted wearing a version of the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional White Dial in November 2023, which launched earlier this year.

Now, after being spotted earlier in 2024 with the Seamaster 300M (pictured top), last week Omega officially unveiled that watch and gave fans another “Daniel Craig” Seamaster 300M (Ref. 210.30.42.20.01.010) — this time, without any connection to 007.

Featuring nearly the same 42 mm diameter (49.7 mm lug-to-lug) case as the Seamaster 300M 007 Edition, except instead of a 13 mm thick titanium case, with a smooth black dial, and beige lume — the case is made of stainless steel, is slightly thicker at 13.8 mm, with a black aluminum laser engraved dial with white lume and markings, and a black oxalic anodized aluminum bezel ring with a luminous diving scale in white.

There’s also a new second version, not considered a “Daniel Craig” with a silver PVD stainless steel dial with a vertical brushed finish presented in the same stainless steel case but with a grade 5 titanium bezel (instead of a steel bezel with aluminum insert) with a laser-ablated diving scale in positive relief and a single dot of white lume at 12 o’clock (the same type of bezel found on the Seamaster Nekton).

Omega’s automatic (winds in both directions, plus hand winding, hacking seconds) Co-Axial Master Chronometer (rated to 0/+5) caliber 8806 beats at 3.5Hz, is 15,000 gauss anti-magnetic, has a traversing balance bridge for extra robustness, wave finishing on the bridges and rotor, perlage on the mainplate, advanced free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring, and is good for up to 55-hours of power reserve when the mainspring is fully wound.

Each of the Seamaster 300M models has a domed sapphire crystal with scratchproof interior-only anti-glare treatment, is water-resistant to 300 meters, and has a ridged screw-down crown and helium escape valve, is available with a 20 mm lug width Milanese mesh bracelet with folding clasp for $6,500 or an integrated rubber strap with folding clasp for $5,900.

Is this a better option than a Rolex Submariner no-date? The decision is entirely personal but these are available at a substantially lower price and are likely easier to get a hold of.
