LVMH-owned high-end watchmaker, Hublot, debuted a slew of new timepieces today, and we’ve selected four that we found interesting in terms of visuals, materials, and mechanics.
The first is the Hublot Big Bang Integral Ceramic, which features a skeletonized dial and comes in a 42 mm x 13.45 mm ceramic case, with a fully integrated ceramic bracelet, available in three color variations: blue (above), gray (below), and white. The watch case is entirely manufactured from ceramic except for the bezel lugs, which are in black, dark blue, or gray composite, and the rubber elements on the crown and the pushers. Hublot’s latest generation Unico movement caliber HUB1280 powers the Big Bang Integral Ceramic. $23,100
Next, is the Hublot Classic Fusion Orlinski, which is the result of a partnership with artist Richard Orlinski and is available in two limited editions: one in shiny blue ceramic and the other in glossy black ceramic. The colors, particularly the vibrant blue, are used in the artist’s XXL bestiary sculptures, as are the faceted angles seen on the case, bezel, and even the dial, the latter of which is ceramic, like the case. The Classic Fusion Orlinski case measures 40 mm x 11.10 mm and is paired with a matching rubber strap. $13,600
Then, there’s the Big Bang MP-11 Magic Gold which comes in a 45 mm x 14.40 mm case made from Hublot’s proprietary scratch-resistant gold alloy. To achieve a gold that does not scratch, Hublot fuses pure gold with boron carbide, an extremely hard type of ceramic. Driving the hours and minutes is the manually wound caliber MP-11, an engine inspired movement with seven barrels coupled in series good for a 14-day power reserve, and which shows the days remaining on the far left barrel. $89,500
Last, is the Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire, which as the name suggests features an orange sapphire crystal case. Produced in-house, the sapphire case measures 45 mm x 15.30 mm and represents the world’s first orange sapphire crystal watch case. Driving the hours, minutes, and 60-second tourbillon is the automatic skeletonized caliber MHUB6035 with a reinvented architecture that features a gray 22K micro-rotor visible on the dial side and three sapphire bridges. The watch is paired with a transparent orange rubber strap. $169,000
