Launching today ahead of G-Shock’s birthday, Friday, April 12th and in anticipation of Earth Day, Monday, April 22nd, the new revolutionary watch style not only celebrates the brand’s inception but also upholds its commitment to sustainability.
Carrying out G-Shocks’s ongoing pursuit of new colors, materials, and finishes, the G5600BG-1 features a bezel and band crafted from resin scraps in the brand’s classic red, yellow, and matte black colorways. This special edition timepiece honors G-SHOCK’s legacy and reaffirms its dedication to implementing innovative design processes.
The bezel and band of the G5600BG-1 ingeniously repurposes residual resin scraps from CASIO watches. The scraps are finely shredded, mixed into a base urethane material, and then molded into the necessary components, creating vibrant resin with a sleek matte black base. Featuring a distinctive multicolored pattern, each of the G5600BG-1 timepieces ensures a one-of-a-kind appearance resulting from the mixing process of the recycled waste resin.
The special edition model release is additionally equipped with G-SHOCK’s signature Tough Solar technology that sustains its battery life with both artificial light and sunlight.
