L’Epée 1839 has taken its mechanical race car clock a step further by adding a cigar lighter.
Paying homage to the Bugatti Type 35 the T35 Race Car Clock and Cigar Lighter not only look great but also tells the time and features a removable dual flame torch lighter that cleverly doubles as the engine block and resides in the engine bay, and can be popped out to light your cigar via the car’s hand brake, when not in use.
Measuring 440 mm in length by 180 mm in width and 120 mm in height, and weighing almost 10 pounds (9.92 lb) the aluminum, stainless steel, and nickel and palladium-plated brass car clock will impress while sitting on your desk, shelf, table, bar, or display case.
Swiss clockmaker L’Epée 1839, which was acquired by LVMH in June of this year, makes the wheel wound caliber 1855 MHD in-house. However, the company does not state who manufactures the refillable butane double torch lighter. The 2.5Hz movement drives the hours and minutes display on the side of the car and when fully wound the clock can run for 8-days.
Available in four colors — French racing blue, British racing green, Obsidian black, and Rosso Corsa — each version is limited to 100 pieces. The T35 Race Car Clock with Cigar Lighter will be available beginning October 2024 and will retail for CHF 35,000 (approximately $41,000). Learn more at L’Epée 1839.
