This week, Audemars Piguet debuted a limited edition re-issue of its 1940s Ref. 1533 called the [Re]master01 Selfwinding Chronograph (pictured above). The bi-color watch is constructed of steel for the case and teardrop lugs, contrasted by an 18K pink bezel, pushers, and crown. Driving the hours, minutes, seconds, and the chronograph is automatic in-house caliber 4409 which beats at 4Hz and has a 70-hour power reserve. While the original watch was 36.5 mm, the recreation measures 40 mm x 14.6 mm. Production is limited to 500 pieces — available exclusively at AP boutiques with a retail price of $53,000.

IWC Big Pilot's Edition Black Carbon

Featuring a high-tech forged carbon version of the 46 mm x 14.8 mm Big Pilot’s case, the IWC Edition Black Carbon Big Pilot’s Ref. IW5061-01 was quietly debuted on the Schaffhausen watchmaker’s website earlier this year. The back and crown are crafted in blackened titanium. The movement is IWC’s automatic caliber 52110 which beats at 4Hz, has 257 components and a 168-hour power reserve. Production is limited to 100 pieces. Retail is approximately $18,750.

Victorinox FieldForce GMT Sport

Last week, Victorinox added a GMT version to its FieldForce watch collection. The FieldForce GMT comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case and is available with a black or blue dial, with a leather strap or steel bracelet. There’s also a Sport version with a black dial, orange accents, and a sporty orange rubber strap (pictured). A Swiss-made Ronda 515.24H quartz movement powers the time, GMT, and date functions. The 24-hour time is displayed on the inner ring via a dedicated circular open tipped GMT hand.  Retail is $375 on a leather strap — or $425 for the version with a steel bracelet or the orange rubber strap equipped Sport variant.

Edifice-EQB-1000XDC-1A-DR

For 2020, Edifice introduced a new version of its Super Slim High Spec Chronograph. The EQB-1000XDC-1A comes in a stainless steel case that measures 45.6 mm × 8.9 mm and features a scratch-resistant black ion-plating and a sapphire crystal. After connecting to the app via the Bluetooth smartphone link, the time is synced automatically up to 4 times per day. A solar-powered recharging system uses natural sunlight or fluorescent light to keep the battery charged. The watch has a two-city simultaneous time display, home time/world time switching via the app, a 1/1000th of a second display that is displayed on a smartphone, and a lap timer. Retail is $380.

Porsche Design 1919 Chronotimer Flyback Blue

Earlier this month, Porsche Design debuted a new version of its existing 1919 Chronotimer Flyback chronograph. The new 1919 Chronotimer Flyback Blue comes in a 42 mm x 14.9 mm titanium case that’s has a mixture of polished and glass bead blasted surfaces. Distinctively, the strap is made from the same blue leather as a genuine Porsche car interior and has grey contrast stitching. The dial is matched to the same hue of blue. In addition to time and date indications, the automatic mechanical movement offers a complicated flyback chronograph function that allows the stopwatch to be restarted without needing to be reset. Retail is $6,350.
