The Aquis Hangang Limited Edition is the latest limited-edition timepiece that Oris is marketing to help clean, protect, and restore the world’s water.

The previous two Aquis Limited Edition dive watches were made to support the Carysfort Reef and Lake Baikal, respectively. Similarly, a portion of the proceeds from the Aquis Hangang Limited Edition will go to preserve a body of water: the Hangang River in South Korea. The Hangang (or “Han River”) is a critical source of water for the 10 million people who live in the capital — Seoul, Korea.

Like the aforementioned models, this Aquis comes in a 43.5 mm diameter stainless steel case with a unidirectional rotating dive bezel, screw-in caseback, screw-down crown, steel crown guards, and a water-resistance rating of 300 meters. The movement is the same outsourced Swiss-made 4Hz automatic caliber previously used as well and has a power reserve of 38-hours and features stop-seconds for precise setting of the time.

What’s unique about this 2,000-piece limited edition is its green gradient dial which fades from light in the center to dark on the edges. And it’s dark green ceramic bezel insert. Plus, the caseback has a map of the Hangang River in relief.

The watch is fitted with a stainless steel bracelet with folding security clasp and diving extension.

The Hangang Limited Edition is a watch that highlights the problems due to neglect of the Hangang River in South Korea that have caused it to become dirty and severely polluted. In partnership with Seoul KFEM, part of the Korea Federation for Environmental Movements, South Korea’s largest environmental non-governmental organization, Oris will support the protection of this vital source of water.
