Manufacture Parmigiani Fleurier has created a special oval timepiece with telescoping hands as an homage to a famous oval pocket watch (pictured on right) that was made by British watchmakers Vardon & Stedmann in the 19th century.
The Toric Oval’s blued titanium scissor-like hands telescope in and out as they rotate, following the edge of the dial perfectly. Powering the Toric is an in-house caliber 114 with 299 components (based on PF caliber 111). The manually wound mechanical movement is hand-finished and viewable through the sapphire case back. Eight-day power reserve with indicator at 12 o’clock. Wide date display at 6 o’clock. Hand-painted dial.

Available in a fully polished 18k white or rose gold oval-shaped case with signature Parmigiani lugs. Black alligator strap. Limited to 30 pieces per metal. The price is $95,000.
