At Watches and Wonders 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland Rolex introduced its first-ever dial made of high-tech ceramic.
Offered in a left-hand crown model, the latest GMT-Master II (Ref. 126729 VTNR) features a 40 mm diameter 18K white gold case with an Oyster bracelet, a green and black Cerachrom bezel insert, and a matching green Cerachrom dial.
“The new Cerachrom dial – created in the same way as dials in natural stone, by fitting a disc of material onto a brass plate – displays the same shade of green as the lower half of the two-color green and black Cerachrom bezel insert that frames the watch face. This perfect tonal harmony, which remains true under all lighting conditions, is achieved by using the same type of ceramic to produce both elements,” says Rolex
Rolex automatic caliber 3285 (introduced in 2018) powers the hours, minutes, central seconds, date (with Cyclops), and the namesake 24-hour format GMT hour hand for up to 70 hours once fully wound. Each movement is COSC-certified then cased up and adjusted to an accuracy level of -2/+2 second per day before leaving the factor as Superlative Certified (like all Rolexes).
The GMT-Master II has a “flyer” GMT and the local 12-hour hand can be independently set. You can display the time in two time zones: local time (12-hour hand) and home time (24-hour hand), and the date is synchronized with the local time.
Equipped with a Trilock screw-down crown and a screw-in caseback, the GMT-Master II is water-resistant to a depth of 100 meters.
The GMT-Master II 126729 VTNR is delivered with an Oyster bracelet and Oysterlock folding safety clasp that prevents accidental opening. It also offers an Easylink comfort extension link that lets the wearer adjust the length by approximately 5 mm. On this GMT-Master II, the bracelet includes patent ceramic inserts to enhance flexibility and longevity.
For those who prefer a left-hand crown, can afford and are willing to pay a significant premium for 18K white gold, and who like the green ceramic bezel and dial combination, this version of the GMT-Master II is sure to stand out from all the other GMT-Master IIs.
The GMT-Master II (Ref. 126729 VTNR) retail price is approximately $50,000. Learn more at Rolex.
