With Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games set to begin February 4th, 2022 — today Omega announced a timepiece that commemorates the leading Swiss watchmaker’s longstanding partnership as the official timekeeper.

The Seamaster Aqua Terra Beijing 2022 is housed in a standard 41 mm diameter stainless steel Aqua Terra case, with a stamped caseback that includes the Beijing Olympics emblem, “BEIJING 2022,” and the five signature Olympic rings. The raised areas are polished to enhance the contrast between the frosted matte finish in the background.

A special ice-themed white ceramic dial — highlighted by a pressed “frost-finish” pattern — has been implemented as a subtle nod to the upcoming winter games that include sports such a skiing, bobsledding, speed skating, snowboarding, and ice hockey.

Omega’s standard stainless steel bracelet is standard, as is a domed sapphire crystal, and perhaps best of all,  the Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 8900 powers the hours, minutes, center seconds, and date. With its extreme antimagnetic design and incredible accuracy rating, there are few movements that perform at this high of a level, making it quite relevant for a sports watch co-branded for the Olympics.
