Seiko and Fragment Design collaborated with retailer VA to produce two interesting, limited edition Metronome equipped quartz timepieces.

Designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara, who most notably, has done collaborations with TAG Heuer (here, here, and here), as denoted by a lighting bolt on the dial of all respective watches, the Seiko Metronome Fragment features a 36.5 mm diameter stainless steel case, that’s 10 mm thick, and 39.6 mm lug-to-lug.

In addition to hours and minutes hands, the marquee function is a metronome function with a tempo range of: 3-304 beats per minute (fixed at 41 steps). And a reference tone function with a 6 type tone range (A-440Hz, A-442Hz, A-443Hz, B♭-440Hz, B♭-442Hz, B♭-443Hz).

The metronome function indicates the tempo by the movement of the minute hand, and a reference tone function lets you easily tune your instrument.

Available in a white or black dial, with a black Nato-style nylon strap, the watch is currently listed as sold out, so it will need to be sourced on the secondary market.

Retail is approximately $288 at Fujiwara’s concept store VATOKYO.com.
