At Watches and Wonders 2025, Tudor debuted its most advanced Pelagos professional dive watch in a new Ultra form.

The Pelagos Ultra bears a resemblance to Tudor’s famous relative, the Rolex Submariner, but whereas that’s a luxury sports watch with numerous polished surfaces, the Ultra’s titanium case, ceramic bezel insert, dial, titanium bracelet (and rubber strap) are all matte and all business.

Precision machined from unalloyed “commercially pure” corrosion-resistant grade 2 titanium, the newly designed Pelagos Ultra case measures 43 mm x 14.5 mm (22 mm lug-to-lug). The caseback features a screw-in caseback made of grade 5 titanium, an alloyed metal. Both grade 2 and grade 5 titanium are nickel-free and thus classified as hypoallergenic, meaning they won’t react badly for those with metal allergies.

According to Tudor, the new Pelagos Ultra is “Engineered specifically to overcome the challenges associated with saturation diving, this is the most technically capable Pelagos ever made, with 1,000 meters of water resistance, a proprietary bracelet adjustment system, and a 43 mm titanium case.”

Being that this true diver’s watch is designed to function even in the niche of professional deep sea diving, Tudor went all out with the lume, using blue and green emitting, via a combination of Grade X1 and BGW9 Swiss Super-LumiNova® luminous material. The unidirectional dive bezel PIP is green, and so is the minute hand, making it easier to track elapsed time at depth. The indices are made of a ceramic composite monobloc with applied hour markers, also seen on recently released versions of the Pelagos. Additionally, like the new 43 mm diameter case, the dial has been scaled up, and the hands are thicker and the markers larger, further enhancing legibility, regardless of depth.

The Pelagos Ultra has an impressive 1,000-meter depth rating (and dive watches are made to be 25% better than the stated amount). Whether you’re a saturation diver (or not), there’s a compact automatic helium escape valve flush mounted on the left case flank for fluid egress when used in a saturation diving environment.

This is just the second Pelagos to receive a fully COSC and METAS-certified Master Chronometer movement. The first Pelagos to receive it was the FXD GMT Marine Nationale, which debuted in late 2024. Powering the hours, minutes, central seconds, and date indications is Tudor’s manufacture caliber MT5612-U. The 4Hz, 26-jewel, bi-directional-winding automatic movement measures 31.8 mm x 6.5 mm, with a 65-hour power reserve, and features a silicon hairspring, variable inertia balance, and is adjusted to a precision of -2/+4 seconds per day before it leaves the factory.

The bracelet is made from Grade 2 titanium with a proprietary T-Fit rapid adjustment clasp system, with a safety catch, allowing for quick, toolless adjustment. Notably, for the first time, it features a new visual indicator system that uses a color code (and luminescent) so you can easily discern the length of the diver’s extension. A complimentary black rubber strap with a grade 2 titanium buckle is included, with a titanium pin buckle that attaches to the case with titanium end links. Also included is a rubber extension piece that allows you to lengthen the strap by up to 110 mm.

Tudor’s new Pelagos Ultra (Ref. 2543C1A7NU) retails for $5,950. It’s the most professional and precise dive watch the company has ever produced. The Ultra is also the highest-priced Pelagos. So you have to decide if you need all the Ultra features, or if one of the already excellent existing Pelagos dive watch models is a better fit.
