After partnering with Nubeo in 2009 to launch a line of watches, Kobe Bryant is at it again, this time he is working with a much more established brand - Hublot. And instead of an entire collection built around Kobe, Hublot is producing a limited edition Kobe Bryant timepiece — the King Power Black Mamba. Kobe Bryant, is one of the most successful and aggressive active NBA players, and so he has earned the nickname “Black Mamba” which is a venomous snake native to Africa — the fastest snake in the world — with a reputation for being aggressive.

New York Jets Flight Crew, Mark Sanchez and Breitling USA President Thierry Prissert

Earlier this month, at Breitling's Flagship boutique in Manhattan, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez (who is a Breilting brand ambassador) attended a special event to kick off the NFL season. Guests were treated to football-inspired cuisine, photo opportunities with Mark Sanchez and members of the New York Jets Flight Crew Cheerleaders, as well as the latest timepieces from Breitling.

"With Breitling's flagship boutique in the heart of Manhattan, the synergy between New York Jet Mark Sanchez and our brand is a complete fit," said Thierry Prissert, President of Breitling USA.

Last Thursday, Hublot hosted a cocktail party to celebrate the U.S. debut of the Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Titanium and Magic Gold timepieces at the Ferrari of New York showroom on Park Avenue. (Immediately following the Timecrafters press preview which was going on at the Park Avenue Armory, guests were driven to the reception at Ferrari.)

At the event was President and CEO of Ferrari North America, Marco Mattiacci and former NFL Super Bowl Champion wide receiver Plaxico Buress. Buress was wearing the Hublot Diver watch (pictured below). The most notable watch though, was the new Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Magic Gold (pictured above), which not only solidifies the partnership between Ferrari and Hublot, it also shows off Hublot's new proprietary material - Magic Gold - the product of extensive R&D. Magic Gold is scratch-resistant 18K gold.

Dwayne Wade has had a very busy year. He won his second NBA championship in June, supported the US basketball team in their gold medal win this month (he had an injury otherwise he would have played and received a second gold medal), and then just yesterday before returning home from the Olympics, he visited the Hublot manufacture in Nyon, Switzerland for the first time.

After a helicopter tour of the mountains (the Cervin, the Jungfrau, the Eiger, and Mont-Blanc) he was greeted by Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, and Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO. Wade then toured the manufacture where he insisted on meeting with all the watchmakers and employees. Hublot reports that he asked many questions to get a better understanding of how his watch - the King Power Dwanye Wade special edition - is made and how it works.

"I had a great time with the Hublot team and I was really impressed by the precision, the care and incredibly meticulous work of the watchmakers. It is an honor for me to be part of the very select list of the brand's ambassadors and have the opportunity to attend the Hublot workshop in Switzerland," said Dwyane Wade.

Actor, Jeremy Renner, wore an IWC Top Gun wristwatch in "The Bourne Legacy" which premieres in theaters this Friday. Specifically, Renner's character, Aaron Cross, wore the IWC Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph Edition TOP GUN Ref. IW 379901 (shown above). The watch measures 46 mm and is made of black ceramic with titanium pushers, crown and case back. This particular model is no longer in production, although, at the time of this writing, you can still find one fairly easy.

Jamaican Olympic teammates and training partners, Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake, will compete in the 100 meter dash Olympic final tonight, to see who is the best in the world. (They will also be competing against 6 others, but are considered the favorites). Needless to say, they are used to competing against each other. In fact, Blake beat out his fellow teammate in the 100 meters at last year's world championships after Bolt was disqualified for a false start.

Both Olympic sprinters are watch ambassadors: Bolt represents Hublot and Blake represents Richard Mille. Moreover, as is the case with all of Richard Mille's ambassadors: Bubba Watson, Rafael Nadal, Felipe Massa - Blake will be wearing an ultra-light RM timepiece during the race (see picture above, right).
