First introduced in 2024, as part of Breitling’s 140th anniversary celebrations, the in-house caliber B19 combines a perpetual calendar and chronograph.
Presented in a stainless steel case measuring 43 mm x 14.94 mm, with a lug-to-lug distance of 49 mm, the Navitimer Chronograph 43 Perpetual Calendar features a notched bidirectional rotating bezel crafted from 950 platinum.
Breitling’s signature circular slide rule bezel allows the wearer to perform calculations such as multiplication, division, and unit conversions. It consists of a rotating outer scale and a fixed inner scale that work together to compute various metrics, such as flight time, ground speed, and conversions between units like miles and kilometers. Historically, this was a pilot’s watch, and nowadays, it’s still made for pilots, or anyone who appreciates the history, look, and functionality of this tool watch that dates back to 1952.
Adorned with a striking ice-blue sunburst dial, the black flange adds contrast, and the polished platinum bezel adds luster, which, combined, create a luscious result on your wrist.
The Navitimer Chronograph 43 Perpetual Calendar is shown (captured at The 1916 Company’s Annual Watch Fair, in Denver) with a tapered premium black alligator leather strap with contrast stitching, equipped with a stainless steel deployant clasp. In this configuration, the total weight is 108 grams. It’s also available with a 7-link stainless steel Navitimer bracelet, which adds $500 to the retail price and weighs a total of 169.54 grams.
Breitling’s manufacture caliber B19 beats at 4Hz, with 39 jewels, and automatic winding, with a maximum 96-hour power reserve, and is equipped with a complicated perpetual calendar, as well as a column wheel and vertical clutch actuated chronograph.
In addition to hours, minutes, and small seconds, the watch indicates chronograph minutes (30-minute), chronograph seconds (with 1/4th of a second accuracy). There’s a perpetual calendar that correctly displays the day, date, and month, without the need to be manually corrected. A moon phase indicator at 12 o’clock, and a leap year indicator in the sub dial at 6 o’clock, round out this high-function Navitimer.
The Navitimer Chronograph 43 Perpetual Calendar has a push-in crown, a 22 mm lug width, and is topped with a domed sapphire crystal on the dial side, a snap-on sapphire caseback on the rear, and is water-resistant to 30 meters.
