Skeleton Concept, which specializes in aftermarket customizations of Rolex watches for professional sports players created a skeletonized version of the Submariner “Hulk” version for NFL player Antonio Brown.
Antonio Brown is technically inactive in the NFL right now although this watch was created when he was still on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with whom he won a Super Bowl in 2020. Using the discontinued Submariner 116610LV which was in production from 2010 until 2020 as a base and costs roughly $30K to acquire on the secondary market — the watch customizer Skeleton Concept is producing a limited numbered edition of 55 timepieces.
The Rolex Submariner Date “Hulk” reference 116610LV comes in a 40 mm diameter 904L stainless steel case — most notably it has a green colored dial and matching green ceramic bezel insert — and is powered by a caliber 3135 with a 48-hour maximum power reserve.
Antonio Brown’s Skeleton Concept Rolex “HULK” 116610LV features the factory caliber 3135, which has been custom skeletonized, and the dial has been replaced with a sapphire dial so the openwork can be viewed. The sapphire dial has a green chapter ring matching the factory bezel, with a bright orange outline encircling the inner portion of the ring, as well as the date aperture and cyclops.
The bright orange color hue, which represents Miami, is highlighted on the special crown ring, center seconds hand, 0-15 graduations on the dive bezel, the oscillating weight, and the matching bright orange strap rubber strap that is included in addition to the factory 904L steel Oyster bracelet.
Additional custom elements include “A. BROWN 81” printed in white at the 9 o’clock position. Applied indices are used for all hours except 3 o’clock because of the date aperture, and at “7” and “10,” the indices were removed and numerals were printed on the sapphire glass as a nod to Brown’s birthdate July, 10th 1988. “ANTONIO BROWN” is embossed on the perimeter of the screw-in sapphire caseback along with the individual number “No. 1-55.”
The Antonio Brown Skeleton Concept Rolex Submariner “Hulk” 116610LV is limited to 55 pieces and has an approximate retail price of approximately $91,600.
