Today Aquadive debuted the Poseidon GMT in a 300 piece limited edition that’s available to pre-order starting today.
In case you were wondering, Aquadive is owned by the same parent company as Doxa, hence the Poseidon diving collaboration that’s reminiscent of the Doxa Sub 300T Divingstar Poseidon from last year.
Poseidon is a Swedish dive gear manufacturer with a black and yellow trident logo which was stamped on the Doxa limited edition dial just as it is on this Aquadive limited edition. Both watches also have a 42.5 mm diameter stainless steel case. The Aquadive has a screw-down crown, screw-in caseback, domed sapphire crystal, and is 1,000 meters water-resistant.
The Aquadive, however, is thinner than the Doxa at 12 mm versus 14 mm (thanks to a thin MKII case) and has a slightly different cushion-shape. Also, instead of a bright yellow dial with black lettering, the Aquadive is basically the reverse with bright yellow on black, and of course, the Poseidon trident logo stamped on the dial (at 9 o’clock instead of 8 on the Doxa). The bezel is also more traditional, constructed of steel with black ceramic insert, as opposed to steel with the graduations engraved directly in the main ring.
Perhaps best of all, this diving watch is a GMT (based on the company’s standard Bathysphere 100 GMT) and features the second time zone ring on the flange in yellow and black which is indicated by the 24-hour varnish yellow, skeletonized arrow-tipped hand. Aquadive made a date window but to blend it in the wheel is matte black to match the dial.
An ETA 2893 GMT caliber powers the hours, minutes, seconds, and 24-hour GMT time, and date. The automatic movement has a stop-seconds function, beats at 4Hz, has 21 jewels, and features a 42-hour power reserve.
The Aquadive Poseidon Edition can be pre-ordered starting today for $1,395 ($1,890 is the full retail price) and comes with two ISOfrane straps that are capable of wearing over a wetsuit (one in black and one in yellow).
