Benrus is an accessibly priced Swiss watch brand that was relaunched in 2020 and for 2022 they’ve introduced a retro version of the Sea Lord timepiece from the 1960s.

The Benrus Sea Lord Sport Diver comes in a 39 mm x 14 mm stainless steel case that measures 45 mm (lug-to-lug) with a green or black dial. Being a dive watch there’s a 120-click undirectional steel dive bezel with a green or black ceramic insert matched to the dial color.

An outsourced Soprod P024 automatic movement powers the time-only watch which has hours, minutes, and center seconds with no date. The power reserve is 38 hours.

Prominent applied indices, printed graduations on the flange, rectangular-shaped hour and minute hands, and a stick-shaped center seconds hand indicate the time. The hour and minute hands, hour markers, and even the bezel, feature lume, however, the designers omitted lume on the seconds hand.

A sapphire crystal protects the dial, the solid caseback screws in, and the crown screws down. The depth rating is 300 meters. The Benrus Sea Lord Sport Diver is available on a 20 mm lug width tropical rubber strap (with quick-release spring bars) for $995 or on a stainless steel bracelet for $1,095. Comes in a rugged Pelican-style box.
