Girard-Perregaux announced a limited edition retro version of its integrated bracelet Laureato collection, based on the original model from 1975.
The Laureato Fifty commemorates the 50th anniversary of the original Laureato and is limited to 200 pieces.
A more refined 39 mm x 9.8 mm case design, made in a two-tone stainless steel case with an 18K yellow gold bezel, crown, and bracelet center links, distinguishes this Laureato from its modern counterparts. Highlighted by a signature “Clous de Paris” dial, pink gold-plated hands, and matching applied indices contrast against the gray guilloché dial.
The all-new automatic, three-hand and date, stop-seconds-equipped, in-house caliber GP4800 features a variable inertia balance, supported by a traversing balance bridge, a silicon escapement, and a 55-hour power reserve — all visible through the sapphire glass caseback.
Measuring 25.6 mm x 4.28 mm, the caliber GP4800 features an upgraded winding system with an unidirectional winding oscillating mass mounted on ceramic ball bearings equipped with a shock absorber system that reduces winding noise and counters shocks, delivering better long-term durability.
The movement is decorated with rhodium-plated bridges with golden inscriptions, Genève stripes, and mirror-polished screw heads.
The Laureato Fifty comes with an integrated bracelet, as a distinguishing design feature, and this one offers a convenient micro-adjustment of the bracelet, with 4 mm of toolless flexibility, without having to remove entire links.
Girard Perregaux’s Laureato Fifty (Ref. 81008-63-3412-1CM) is water-resistant to 150 meters and carries a retail price of $28,320.
