We recently visited Breguet’s flagship boutique in New York City at 711 Fifth Avenue to check out three important pieces that were on loan from the Collection Montres Breguet S.A.

The case back of the #4821 Breguet, the Small Medallion Simple Watch, which was formerly owned by a Russian noble in the 1800s (pictured top).

Sold on December 3 1842 by Fossin & Fils for 2,500 francs. Now part of the collection Montres Bregeut S.A.

Case of Pietre dure inlay on gold mount, dial of pierre sure inlay with off-center chapter ring, ruby cylinder escapement. 37 mm diameter.

The Breguet #3825 Military Metronome, a pedometer for regulating the troop movements. Silver case, silver engine-turned dial, adjustment from 60 to 125 beats per minute, seconds subdial, detent escapement. 69 mm diameter. Delivered May 15, 1822 to General Brosin on behalf of Tsar Alexandar I for 1,800 francs. Now part of the collection Montres Breguet S.A.

Bregeut #5038 Tiny simple watch for bracelet. Made on chronometer (barde-temp) principles, gold case, off-center gold dial, lever escapement, platinum balance wheel, winding and time-set crown on pendant. At 18 mm, is practically the same diameter as a dime. Not much wider than one of my fingers. Sold on October 13, 1832 to Count A. Demidov for 4,200 francs. Now in the collection Montres Breguet S.A.
