Ahead of SIHH 2015, which starts January 19th, Ralph Lauren watches has released a preview of one of their new timepieces. The new Ralph Lauren Sporting Automotive Chronograph has the same look as the original Ralph Lauren Sporting watch but with the addition of a chronograph function.

The steel case measures 44.80 mm by 12.20 mm and has a fixed steel bezel with 6 screws. The dial has a black matte galvanic center dial with brown elm burl wood outer decor. The Arabic numeral hour markers are printed with a beige lume.

The hour and minute hands are sword-shaped and have a shiny black oxidized finish and a beige luminous treatment. The chronograph seconds hand, as well as the three subsidiary dial hands, are in shiny white. The chrono counters at 9 and 3 o’clock (count hours and minutes), with a small seconds display at 6 o’clock (including a date aperture). The flange is black with a white print tachometer scale.

The dial is protected by a convex sapphire crystal with an interior anti-glare treatment. There is a sapphire crystal caseback that offers a view of the caliber RL751A/1 which was made by Jaeger-LeCoultre from Ralph Lauren. The movement beats at 4Hz and has a 65-hour power reserve. It features Geneva strips, perlage and a custom rotor.
