Designed with sailing and water activities in mind, the Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph was introduced in a new variation last week in what IWC refers to as the “Summer Editions” collection, which a great looking seasonal line of premium Nato and textile strap styles (in navy blue, beige/gray or a mixture of both colors) which retail for $115 and $155, respectively.

The “Summer Edition” Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph only has a rating of 60-meters water-resistance (whereas an ISO 6425 rated diver’s watch has to have a minimum of 100-meters of water resistance, so this is by no means a professional or diving watch.

With a 60-meter rating, however, that’s sufficient to take a swim with, work on the deck of a sailboat with, or wear sailing, without worrying about damaging the watch.

The special Summer Edition of the Yacht Club Chronograph (Ref. IW390507) comes in a 43.5 mm x 14.2 mm stainless steel case with a blue dial, with white subdials, rhodium-plated hands, a red second hand, and a blue rubber strap. Inside is 4Hz in-house caliber 89361 movement which, notably combines the chronograph minutes and hours in one subdial at 12 o’clock, and features a flyback function. The power reserve is 68-hours.

Retails is $12,100.
