Today, Laurent Ferrier announced a final limited edition of the École collection, engraved with the edition number and “Série Atelier II” on the caseback.

The École Annual Calendar Navy is presented in a 40 mm x 12.6 mm stainless steel case, with a bright navy-hued galvanic blue vertical satin-brushed dial that’s surrounded by a circular satin-brushed hour ring. Contrasting the blue of the dial are easy to read white markings, bright orange hands, and bright orange dashes at 12, 3, 6, and 9 on both the main dial and small seconds subdial.

Signature Laurent Ferrier Assegai-shaped 18K gold hour and minute hands are coated with orange lacquer, as is the baton-shaped seconds hand that runs continuously in the beveled subdial that has an azurage pattern in the center, at 6 o’clock. A white-coated Assegai-shaped centrally mounted hand indicates the date in conjunction with the outermost ring, which is powder-coated and that reads 1-31 in white (vintage-inspired font), except for the 31st, which is light blue, subtlely signifying that this is an annual calendar, which only needs a correction on March 1st.

The white day and month discs can be seen through the beveled frame of the double aperture at 12 o’clock, and advance to the next day and month, semi-instantaneously, meaning they change over a period of a few minutes, before or after midnight. The center hand that points to the date, located also changes over semi-instantaneously, as opposed to gradually or instantly. The day display can easily be set via the pushed on the left case flank at 10 o’clock. A “boule or ball-shaped crown controls time adjustments, winding, and day and month.

Laurent Ferrier’s caliber LF126.01 (31.60 mm x 5.80 mm) powers the time, day, date, month, and a movement side power reserve indicator. Beating at 3Hz, with 235 components, 23 jewels, equipped with a Swiss lever escapement and premium free-sprung balance wheel, the manually wound caliber can run autonomously for up to 80-hours.
