Lego builder, Pedro Jimenez, made a custom one-off Lego creation of G-Shock’s iconic Mudmaster wristwatch.

The Lego G-Shock Mudmaster concept was submitted to the Lego Ideas forum where members vote and if the count reaches 10,000 the idea will be officially considered for production by Lego.

Based on this article by YankoDesign the designer Jimenez did not specify how many Lego bricks were required to achieve this build, but he went so far as to create a proper watch display stand and even an extra strap.

Jiminez had this to say about his creation:

“I am fascinated with G-Shock watches series, in particular with Mudmaster ones because they are the perfect combination of Toughness, Elegance, Bulkiness, and Precision that resembles very well any LEGO creation. Detailing the original watch design, it is an appreciable block structure and several layers of materials that make it very easy to think of LEGO.

This design is semi-functional: the needles can spin by rotating the bolt on the side just to create the feeling that hour can be adjusted, 2 sets of bands that have the capacity to bend and are coming with a separate stand for display.

Any piece of jewelry has an inexplicable power of attraction to the people that stare at them, I hope others can feel this, the same way I am perceiving it and that attraction can make this a great product that everyone would want to have.”

Considering the amount of art, t-shirts, hats, hoodies, and other items created in homage to famous wristwatch models — not to mention the multi-generational cult following behind iconic wristwatches — this idea could make sense for licensed Lego watch products, for G-Shock, as well as many other brands.
