Today, Richemont announced that Louis Ferla will succeed Cyrille Vigneron as CEO of Cartier.

Louis Ferla is currently the CEO of Cartier’s sister brand Vacheron Constantin and will replace Vigneron effective September 1, 2024.

Vigneron will retire after eight years at the helm of Richemont’s leading brand, Cartier. Vigneron will become the Chairman of Cartier Culture and Philanthropy and is the current Chairman of the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation.

According to Richemont, “Mr Ferla, a French national, joined Richemont in 2001 starting at Alfred Dunhill as Area Sales Manager in Hong Kong and then as general manager in Taipei. In 2006 he joined Cartier, where he held various senior executive positions, namely across the Middle East, India, and Africa before being appointed CEO in China. In 2015, he was promoted to the jewelry Maison’s executive committee as International Director of Clients & Business. Mr Ferla has been CEO of Vacheron Constantin since 2017.”

With the downturn of the luxury business, after a strong past few years, Richemont has been going through a changing of the guard in 2024.

Nicolas Bos, formerly of Van Cleef & Arpels was announced as the new CEO of the entire Richemont Group in May of this year.

At the same time as this announcement, Richemont appointed Catherine Renier, the current CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre, as the next CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, filling the vacant spot left by Bos.
