Armand “Mondo” Duplantis won gold — and set a new pole vault world record, clearing 6.25 meters (20.51 feet) — at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Monday, August 5th.

He’s an official Omega ambassador and wore Seamaster Aqua Terra “Ultra Light” that Omega customized with a Swedish blue and yellow color scheme.  The Aqua Terra Ultra Light was first introduced in 2019, and this 2024 model shares the same 41 mm x 13.5 mm (49.2 mm) sand-blasted Gamma titanium case, with a sand-blasted silicon nitride bezel ring, and manually wound titanium movement.

Featuring an engraved horizontal strip pattern, the dial is made from sand-blasted grade 5 titanium with a blue anodized finish. Alongside the blackened applied dagger-shaped indexes and blackened hour-minute hands, which are all treated with lume, there’s also a yellow-varnished 3D laser-shaped cylindrical central seconds hand inspired by a Pole Vault.

This special Aqua Terra is presented on a blue and yellow integrated strap made from rubber and nylon fabric. Aqua Terra has a 150-meter water resistance depth rating. As you can see above, the crown sits flush with the case, and that’s because it’s retractable. Behind the sapphire crystal caseback, you’ll find the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 8928 Ti movement.

Omega’s state-of-the-art manually wound 29-jewel caliber 8929 Ti features ceramised titanium for the bridges and mainplate. A free-sprung silicon balance, silicon balance spring, and Co-Axial escapement beat at 3.5Hz. The movement meets METAS-certified Master Chronometer specifications, including being resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss and leaving the factory with an accuracy rating of 0/-4 seconds per day. This is a time-only watch with hours, minutes, and central seconds features a 72-hour power reserve by way of twin series-mounted mainsprings. A time-zone setting function that allows you to set the hour hand in one-hour increments.

The Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M “Ultra Light” (Ref. 220.92.41.21.03.002) is delivered in a special presentation box and is a limited production model with a retail price of $51,300.
