Hodinkee and Timex have collaborated again to produce a custom limited edition of the super affordable and rather popular Q Timex.
Today, Hodinkee and Timex announce their second collaboration, the Q Timex Vintage Hodinkee Limited Edition, presented in the same 38 mm x 11.5 mm stainless steel case, with an attractive dark gray sunburst dial (which the press release refers to as “Hodinkee Gray”).
Applied indices, a curved dial with a retro printed cross-hair motif, a new rectangular hand stack with a lollipop center second hands, and the Hodinkee logo stamped on the dial at 6 o’clock complete the elevated aesthetic.
Considering the current level of inflation — this new Q Timex offers a lot of extra details such as a more upscale dial, and an innovative newly improved stretch bracelet with requires no tools to size, that logically would add cost, yet the price has stayed exactly the same as Hodinkee’s first limited edition Q Timex.
A watch at this price point is not going to be made in Switzerland, Germany, Japan, or the United States, and in the interest of being fully transparent, Timex and Hodinkee disclosed that the Q Timex Hodinkee LE was designed in New York City and Milan and manufactured in China.
Limited to 2,500 pieces, the Q Timex Vintage Hodinkee Limited Edition (Ref. TW2V66400JR) comes with a domed acrylic crystal, is water-resistant to a depth of 50 meters, is powered by a Citizen 2036 quart movement with a 3-year power reserve and is available for $189 exclusively from the Hodinkee Shop.
