First unveiled in 2023, the Perpetual 1908 collection represents Rolex moving in a new direction with its Classic Dress watches.

Today, Rolex added a more luxurious, platinum version of the Perpetual 1908 collection, powered by the same caliber 7140 movement that has a 66-hour power reserve and that’s on display via the open caseback. The 1908 Perpetual replaces the Cellini Classic Dress watches, which Rolex discontinued last year.

The thin 39 mm diameter 950 platinum case glows in a way that only platinum case is contrasted by an ice-blue rice-grain (guilloche) motif dial, which is distinguished from last year’s models which have smooth (no motif) white or black dials and gold, not platinum cases.

A fluted bezel, Sword-shaped minutes hand, and open-tipped hour hand, and small seconds subdial, with a circular brushed surface, mini Sword-shaped sweeping seconds, and Railroad-style seconds track, complete the clean no-date, time-only Classic dress watch from Rolex.

The Perpetual 1908 (Ref. 52506-0002) with a Rolex iced-blue dial and platinum case comes with a brown or black alligator leather strap, with a dark green lining, and retails for $30,900.
