Timed with World Ocean’s Day Rolex has today released the documentary “Perpetual Planet: Heroes of the Oceans” which is free to watch online.
The documentary features oceanographer and Rolex Testimonee Sylvia Earle along with marine scientists, to tell the story of work being undertaken across the planet to protect the oceans’ fragile ecosystems.

Commissioned as part of Rolex’s Perpetual Planet initiative, the documentary was created to support and create awareness of the people devising solutions to the Earth’s growing environmental challenges. According to Rolex, “the initiative derives from Rolex’s legacy as a company that has traditionally fostered exploration for the sake of discovery. However, today’s explorers are increasingly concerned about the balance of the Earth’s ecosystems.”

The hour-long documentary — produced by the BBC Studios’ Science Unit — highlights seven explorers (“Heroes”) dedicated to the conservation of the environment. Watch the full documentary here at Rolex.org.
