The Rolex Submariner was first introduced in 1953, making 2023 its 70th anniversary.

Instead of making a platinum Submariner (which would be incredibly heavy), a special blue dial, or a green dial and a yellow gold case — which have all been rumored — as of now, it appears Rolex has simply soft-launched a new shade of green on the ceramic bezel for the existing 41 mm Ref. 126610LV.

The new shade of green is brighter and more like the original Submariner Kermit Ref. 16610LV that came out in 2003 for the Submariner’s 50th anniversary.

Right now, the Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 126610LV sits at $10,800 on Rolex.com, and it appears the green bezel in the official photo is the new lighter throwback hue from the original 2003 Kermit Submariner.
