Omega introduced a larger, pricier Worldtimer within its Planet Ocean collection today.

The Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer Black Ceramic is powered by Omega’s automatic, 3.5Hz, 60-hour, Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 8938, which was first introduced in 2017, in the smaller 43 mm Aqua Terra Worldtimer.

Offered in a massive 45.5 mm x 17.4 mm (51.5 mm lug-to-lug) brushed black ceramic [ZrO2] case, with a 22 mm lug width, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer Black Ceramic is made for those with larger wrists (we’d suggest approximately 7.5″ and above), or for those with smaller wrists that don’t mind a watch with serious wrist presence.

Thankfully, the lightweight ceramic case helps with weight, however, at 143 grams on the textured rubber strap, the Planet Ocean Worldtimer still weighs (22 grams more) than the 121-gram Aqua Terra Worldtimer in stainless steel on a strap, and (49 grams more) than the 94-gram Aqua Terra Worldtimer in titanium on a strap.

Even though this is a Worldtimer (controlled by two crowns), it’s also a Seamaster, and accordingly, there’s a unidirectional diving bezel, both crowns screw-down, the caseback screws-in, and it’s rated to an impressive 600-meters. The bezel is crafted from black ceramic, and features a laser-ablated diving scale in positive relief that’s been polished to stand out against the matte background. Not visually the best for diving, but let’s be honest, neither is the busy worldtime dial.

According to Omega, “Surrounding this topographic map is a 24-hour indication, dividing night and day, beneath hesalite glass. The outer section of each dial is made with a DLC black colour and is further embellished with a laser-ablated and polished honeycomb pattern.”

The 2025 Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer Black Ceramic comes in two variations, one that’s monochrome and the other adds a turquoise accent color (Ref. 215.92.46.22.01.006 and 215.92.46.22.01.007).

The retail price is an eye-watering $14,800, although Omega has topped this price before with the Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT Dark Gray.
