Tissot created a special edition of its popular entry-level PRX timepiece in collaboration with a Japanese anime cartoon series.

The PRX UFO Robot Grendizer Special Edition pays tribute to the Japanese manga and animated television series created by Go Nagai.

Using Tissot’s standard 40 mm x 10.9 mm stainless steel case the designers created a blue dial stamped with the Grendizer robot and with a center seconds hand featuring a counterweight shaped like Grenadier’s blade.

Adding to the theme is the two-color application of lume that helps you read the time and highlight the robot motif that takes up the entire dial.

On the flange is a subtle nod to the Japanese anime show, where the show title “UFOロボ グレンダイザー” is engraved in Japanese. Flip the watch over, and the robot motif is engraved on the automatic rotor.

Tissot’s industrial 3H automatic ETA C07.111-based Powermatic 80 caliber drives the hours, minutes, and center seconds display for up to 80 hours when fully wound. The PRX UFO Robot Grendizer Special Edition (Ref. T137.407.11.041.02) features a premium sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to a depth of 100 meters.
