Timex debuted a new mechanical timepiece today as part of an ongoing collaboration with clothing designer Todd Snyder.
Introducing the 2020 Todd Snyder x Timex Liquor Store Watch which is presented in a 38 mm stainless steel case and powered by a 21-jewel Japanese automatic mechanical movement that is visible through the mineral crystal caseback.
The dial features a matte ecru sunburst finish with polished gold-tone Alpha-shaped hour and minute hands and Arabic numeral markers. The long baton-shaped center seconds hand is also finished with a gold-tone and is balanced by an open circle counterweight. A graduated black minutes/seconds scale is printed on the chapter ring. An acrylic crystal protects the dial.
This specially designed timepiece pays homage to Snyder’s second New York City location, Todd Snyder at the Liquor Store, with a sartorial twist on midcentury style.
“The Liquor Store watch is top shelf Timex, based on a vintage timepiece I love, upgraded for the discerning modern guy – a pure distillation of what our ongoing collaboration is all about,” said Todd Snyder. “It’s simple, strong, and sophisticated — just like a great pour.”
The 2020 Todd Snyder x Timex Liquor Store Watch is paired with an 18mm leather-backed textile strap in Snyder’s signature olive green color. Water-resistance is 50 meters. The retail price is $249 and the watch is available now exclusively on ToddSnyder.com.
