Tom Brady, the lead commentator for the NFL on Fox Sports, called Super Bowl LIX with an extravagant gem-set tourbillon from Jacob & Co.
Even though Brady no longer plays professional football, the undisputed GOAT still got the “W” at Super Bowl LIX (59). Brady probably outdid every past announcer by wearing one of the most expensive and ostentatious wristwatches ever inside the Super Bowl broadcast booth.
Worn on the wrist of Tom Brady, the Jacob & Co. Caviar Tourbillon consists of a 44 mm x 15.85 mm 18K rose gold case that’s been set with over 700 gems. The case is invisible-set with 216 baguette-shaped yellow sapphires (25.27 carats), the dial has 121 invisible-set baguette-shaped yellow sapphires (9.12 carats), the crown features 14 invisible-set baguette-shaped and one rose-cut yellow sapphires (2.68 carats), the clasp has 18 invisible-set baguette-shaped yellow sapphires (2.04 carats), and the movement is pavé-set with 338 brilliant-cut diamonds (1.32 carats).
The time-only watch (hours, minutes, one-minute flying tourbillon) is powered by caliber JCAA43, a 4Hz automatic movement with 216 components, and a 72-hour power reserve.
It’s unclear if Brady and Jacob & Co. worked together in some official capacity to show off this over-the-top timepiece, however, Cristiano Ronaldo has also worn a version of the Caviar Tourbillon in the past, so it would not be the first time a sports superstar wore Jacob & Co.
There are only 18 pieces of this “Tom Brady” version of the Jacob & Co. Caviar Tourbillon (Ref. CV210.40.AB.AB.A) available worldwide, and the retail price for each is $740,000.
