Raymond Weil Don Giovanni Così Grande Jumping Hour

Raymond Weil recently introduced a new version of the Don Giovanni, the Così Grande Jumping Hour. A 50 mm x 37.6 mm x 12.4 mm rectangle rose gold case houses an automatic RW 1400 calibre movement. The movement runs at 28,800 vph and has a power reserve of 42-hours. It has been decorated with a "Côtes de Genève" finish and circular-graining. All of which can be viewed through the clear caseback. Surprisingly though, the real treat is not necessarily what is inside.

TAG Heuer Monaco V4

In 2004, TAG Heuer introduced the Monaco V4, as a concept watch. Five years later, the concept is finally becoming a reality. The first one will go sale at the Only Watch Auction 2009, on September 24th. The auction will be conducted by Patrizzi & Co. during the Monaco Yacht Show. All proceeds of the sale go to support research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The V4's revolutionary movement is belt-driven, the first watch of its kind. The pinions of a traditional mechanical movement have been replaced with five drive belts and ball bearings. A linear (straight line) automatic winding system is used to power the movement. Jean Dunand just unveiled a new one-off timepiece, the Orbital Confucius. "The mechanical prowess and poetry in motion of the gyrating tourbillon is enhanced with a miniature painting of sublime Oriental charm, an exceptional and highly original work of art." This ultra-luxury watch features a hand-painted portrait of Confucius, on a very thin black onyx dial that has been inserted on top of a gold disk. Many hours have been spent in creating this timepiece, including fifteen kiln firings.

Rebellion RE-1 Automatic Chronograph

This is the Rebellion RE-1 Automatic Chronograph features a 316L (46 mm x 56.7 mm x 19.6 mm) stainless steel case, with optional full or partial DLC treatment. A choice of dials: aluminum, carbon fibre, aluminum/carbon fibre, carbon fibre/ aluminum. The sapphire crystal has compound curves, bevelled edges and anti-reflective coating on both sides. The back features a flat sapphire crystal. The movement is an RE-1 cam-lever chronograph with automatic winding. It runs at 28'800 vph (4hz) and has 27 jewels. The baseplate and bridges are plated with black ruthenium. Testing of the movement is verified in-house. The strap is natural rubber with a double deployant buckle and matching case metal. Water-resistance is 100 meters.

Pierre DeRoche GrandCliff TNT Royal Retro

Pierre DeRoche has produced the first watch movement with six retrograde seconds mechanisms. Instead of cams, all the retrograde hands are driven by gears. Thanks to a strip-spring that has replaced the classical balance-spring system, each hand returns to their initial positions after the next retrograde hand begins moving.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona White Gold and Diamonds

Rolex introduced two new Cosmograph Daytona luxury watches, at Baselworld 2009. Both cases come in polished 18k white gold and measure 40mm in diameter. Each features two rows of diamonds, blue enamel Arabic numerals and a pave diamond dial or diamonds and rubies with a pave diamond dial. The new Daytonas are powered by the in-house caliber 4130 automatic chronograph movement, with 290 parts and 44 jewels. The power reserve is 72 hours and each watch is COSC-certified. Water resistance is 30 meters. A white leather strap with clasp is standard.
