Created in 1967 and gifted by the Sunray DX racing team manager to members of the Sunray DX racing team, this Carrera represents a chance to own a rare piece of racing and watch history.

Believe to be only 12 watches ever made, this watch comes with no box or papers but no need to worry because the watch comes directly from the original owner Gary Goss — who was the Sunray DX race team hauler and pilot at the time.

This 1967 Heuer Carrera Sunray DX Ref. 3647 comes in a 36 mm diameter stainless steel case with a steel bracelet, with a silvered white dial, matching white flange, and twin tone-on-tone white subdials, with a red, white, and blue Sunray DX logo emblazoned at 6 o’clock.

The dial has a well-patinated off-white appearance that will certainly attract vintage watch fans who prefer real patina.

Along with the watch, the lot includes an epic kit of accessories including a Sunray DX Zippo lighter, Gary Goss’ Sunray DX name tag, Daytona International Speedway patch, Yenko Stinger decal, 1967 Daytona Trans Am race day admission ticket and button, and a Sunray DX Sports Car Club of America Festival decals.

At the time this was written there are 5 bids with the highest being $22,000 and the bidding ends on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
