First introduced in 2016, Alpina’s Seastrong Diver 300 Heritage is an accessibly priced dive watch with a super compressor case.

Unlike traditional dive watches — which have a rotating external dive bezel and a single crown — a super compressor case is distinguished by dual crowns, one that controls the time and the other that rotates the internal bi-directional dive bezel located on the flange.

The Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 Heritage is a modern retro-inspired dive watch, based on the Super Compressor 10 Seastrong from 1969. Presented in a 42 mm x 12.3 mm stainless steel case, the Seastrong is powered by an outsourced Sellita movement that beats at 4Hz, with 26 jewels, and a 38-hour power reserve.

Both the crowns screw down to the case — preventing inadvertent adjustment of the time and the internal 60-minute count-up dive bezel — the dial is protected by a box-type sapphire crystal, and the caseback is made of solid stainless steel that’s embossed with Alpina’s mountain emblem and that screws in to the case. The depth rating is 300 meters.

While the rubber strap with a textile pattern printed on it is clearly green, the dial is also reportedly green, although in every photo that Alpina sent Professional Watches, it appears to be more of a brown or gray hue. Nevertheless, the official description says the watch has a green sunburst dial, with applied indices.

The 2022 Alpina Seastrong Diver 300 Heritage (Ref. Al-520GR4H6) retail price is $1,695 and will be available beginning June 2022.
