G-Shock has added two new black and gold IP CasioOaks to the collection.

The G-Shock Metal Covered GM-2100G and GM-S2100GB measure 44.4 mm x 11.8 mm (49.3 mm lug-to-lug) and 40.4 mm x 11 mm (45.9 mm lug-to-lug), respectively. The CasiOak with the larger case is typically referred to as the men’s model, and the smaller variant as the women’s version, however, both are well sized for a wide variety of wrists.

With the CasiOak collection — which we reviewed in-depth in 2021 — Casio has maintained the existing, simplistic analog-digital display, which is surely part of the formula that has made the watch line so successful.

In addition to the gold ion-plated stainless steel bezel, the push buttons, and the gold coated resin case — the hour and minute hands have also been given a gold IP treatment. “G-SHOCK” is printed in gilt paint at 12, and so has the water-resistance marking “WR 20BAR,” which by the way, is equivalent to a 200-meter depth rating.

Each CasiOak watch is paired with a black resin strap and gold plated pin buckle. Like past Metal Covered CasiOaks, the larger version has a vertically textured brushed dial surface, whereas the smaller version has a smooth finish.

At this time, the GM-2100G-1A9 and GM-S2100GB-1A have been announced only for the Japanese market, however, based on the limited edition CasiOak Moon Watch, released in 2021 with a similar black and gold colorway and that retailed for $300, we estimate that these new Metal Covered Black and Gold CasiOaks will retail for around $250-$300 if they do in fact arrive stateside at some point in 2022.
